Welcome to Rolling Nichols

Rolling Nichols is our place to document the road — the places we visit, the people we meet, the history we stumble across, and the stops that turn out to be worth making.

We spend roughly half the year traveling in Harriet, our Super C motorhome, usually heading south and west during the colder months and returning home for the warmer part of the year. We’re not interested in racing from one destination to the next. The road in between is part of the story.

Harriet has also been upgraded electrically so we can spend more time away from traditional RV parks. With a large lithium battery bank, inverter system, generator integration, and expanded solar capability, we have far more freedom to stay in places where hookups aren’t available. That flexibility changes where we can stop, how long we can stay, and the kinds of places we can experience.

Some of the places we’ll write about are well known. Others may barely show up on a map. We’ll also share practical observations from RV travel, things we learn along the way, bits of history, and the occasional lesson learned the hard way.

Rolling Nichols is also a record for us — a way to preserve where we went, what we saw, and why certain places stayed with us.

If something turns out to be genuinely worth the stop, we’ll tell you why.
