We spent a couple of days at the Tucson KOA Resort after meeting up with Fred and Gina, before the four of us continued west toward Yuma. It was a good place to slow down for a bit, spend some time together, and break up the drive.

The campground is considerably more resort-like than some of the practical overnight stops we use, with large RV sites, pools, laundry, dog areas, and plenty of room to settle in.

What surprised Lisa and me most were the citrus trees growing right in the park. Guests could actually pick fruit from them, which was not something either of us expected to find in an RV campground. It was a small thing, but it made the place stand out.

For us, the KOA worked exactly the way we needed it to — a comfortable Tucson stop, a couple of easy days with Fred and Gina, and then back on the road toward Yuma.
