The famous 1947 Roswell Daily Record headline that helped make Roswell part of UFO history.

We only spent a few hours in Roswell in April 2023 — long enough for lunch, a little shopping, and a look around town. It wasn’t a major destination for us, but when you’re already passing through southeastern New Mexico, it’s hard to resist stopping in the place forever tied to the 1947 Roswell incident.

Roswell has fully embraced that history, with aliens showing up on signs, storefronts, souvenirs, and just about everywhere else. We didn’t need a full day there to enjoy it. Sometimes a short stop, a meal, and the chance to say “we’ve been to Roswell” is enough.
