Quartzsite RV Show — Quartzsite, AZ
We made our first trip to Quartzsite in January 2024 with Fred and Gina, and it didn’t take long for Lisa and me to understand why so many RVers talk about being there in January. The Quartzsite Sports, Vacation & RV Show is only part of what happens — the entire town seems to swell with RVs, vendors, flea markets, rock and gem shows, and people camped across the surrounding desert.
A big part of the experience is seeing just how many RVs are parked out on the public land around town. Thousands of winter visitors use the BLM long-term and short-term camping areas, and January is one of the busiest times of the year. The result is a kind of temporary desert city made up of motorhomes, fifth wheels, trailers, vans, and everything in between.
The RV show itself is centered around the big tent and surrounding exhibit areas, packed with RV gear, accessories, services, parts, demonstrations, and just about anything else connected to RV travel. It’s hard to appreciate the scale until you’re walking through it — and even harder to explain how a small desert town absorbs that many RVers every winter.
That 2024 trip was our first time there, and we understood the appeal immediately. We were back again in 2026, which probably says enough.
