Grotto in downtown Eureka Springs was one of those places we probably would have remembered even if the food had only been good. The restaurant is built into a historic stone building with a natural spring running through it, and part of the space has the feel of a cave carved into the hillside.

I had the short ribs, and they were the best I’ve ever had anywhere — rich, tender, and the kind of meal that immediately sets the standard for every short rib you order afterward. The setting made the stop interesting, but the food is what made us remember it.

This is exactly the kind of place we mean when we say Worth the Stop.
