Harriet settled in at Fishberry Campground north of Valentine, Nebraska.

Fishberry Campground is one of those places we’ve been happy to return to. It sits about five miles north of Valentine on US-83, far enough out of town to feel quiet and open but still close enough that getting into Valentine is easy. The campground has 22 pull-through sites on a working ranch, and the roomy layout is a big part of why we like it.

We’ve stayed here at least twice, and both times appreciated having plenty of space around Harriet instead of feeling packed in. It’s a practical base for exploring the Valentine area, but we also like simply being a little outside town where things are quieter and the Sandhills feel closer.

For a couple of stops around Valentine, see our Cowboy Trail story and our visit to Smith Falls.
