We visited Saguaro National Park in January 2026, spending time in the Rincon Mountain District on the east side of Tucson. The park protects a broad stretch of Sonoran Desert filled with saguaros, barrel cactus, desert scrub, and views toward the surrounding mountains. It’s an easy place to slow

A quiet campground in Fort Davis that became one of our regular bases for exploring far West Texas.
The site is built and functional, but it’s still very much a work in progress. We’ll be adding older trips, photographs, places, campground notes, and other material as we go. New travel posts will start picking up again as we get closer to heading south in early November.
