We visited Saguaro National Park in January 2026, spending time in the Rincon Mountain District on the east side of Tucson. The park protects a broad stretch of Sonoran Desert filled with saguaros, barrel cactus, desert scrub, and views toward the surrounding mountains.

It’s an easy place to slow down and look around rather than rush from one attraction to another. Even in winter, there was plenty of color in the desert, including the yellow fruits on the barrel cactus in our photo.
